Khaya design
We have defined a design philosophy at Khaya and we call it "zen". It's all about calmness, harmony and balance of our brand values: caring, nature and simplicity. When designing, we strive to a natural warmth and serenity, giving all our products a "zen" relax and serene appearance.

Simplicity and minimalism are at the heart of our designs, our logo, our business operations, the website and our communication. It brings calm in the chaos.
Wood or nature is important to us. That is why we contribute to nature conservation. We plant trees via the organisation Trees for All, we offset CO2 emissions and make solid, biodegradable products that last long and contribute to a sustainable lifestyle. In addition, with every Khaya purchase you support world's leading conservation organization World Wildlife Fund.
The wordmark
The wordmark uses a unique font, which has been specially designed for our brand. Our sans serif letters are very symmetrical and exude modern minimalism. The elegant arches and balanced letter spacing give it a warm oriental look. Our logo is brandmarked on all our products, a unique way to communicate our brand values.
The story behind the logo
We are proud of the conceptual design of the Khaya logo. It is literally a table on which our 'tableware' can stand, but it is also the K of Khaya that is tilted. Even the design of the K is not arbitrary. It is part of an Asian symbol meaning 'tree' or 'wood'.
Color use & branding
The bold use of the basic colors of Khaya green, black and white reflects the simplicity, strength and durability of Khaya products. Earthy tones such as beach sand and swamp mud are used as natural warm substitutes. We also use forest green and cosmos orange as striking accent colours.
Product design
Inspiration for product design often comes from nature. This also applies to our popular Cups. The elegant curvature of the wooden cup is reminiscent of that of a tulip in bloom.
